Laugh & Craft: A Social Creative Workshop with Armisey Smith
Where Creativity Meets Connection!
About the Workshop:
Join us for a joyful, hands-on social event where the goal isn't "perfection"—it’s expression. Laugh & Craft is a welcoming space for adults to explore their artistic side while making new friends. Whether you’re a seasoned maker or have never picked up a paintbrush, this workshop is designed for you.
We focus on the "parallel play" model, allowing you to dive into your own project at your own pace while enjoying the company and laughter of a supportive community.
What to Expect:
Sensory-Friendly Environment: AWA will provide a calm, clutter-free space with controlled lighting and designated "Quiet Zones" if you need a break from the social buzz.
Choice-Driven Crafting: Choose from a variety of accessible projects, including sensory collages, air-dry clay sculpting, or "mess-free" marble painting. You pick the colors, textures, and designs that speak to you.
Supportive Tools: Our "Makers’ Kits" include adaptive equipment like ergonomic brushes, loop scissors, and easy-squeeze glue to ensure everyone can create independently.
Social & Emotional Growth: Beyond art, we use humor and lighthearted activities to help build confidence, reduce stress, and foster genuine friendships.
Who Can Join?
This workshop is specifically tailored for adults with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities. Support persons and caregivers are always welcome to join the fun!.
Our Accessibility Promise:
Step-free access and wheelchair-accessible workstations.
Visual, step-by-step guides for every craft.
“In our space, every brushstroke is a celebration of what you CAN do!”.
